I have 3
pairs boots and 2 pairs waders. All now unlined except one pair
waders. All boots and
waders are black. 1. Boots: A pair from Lakeland via internet. They're actually very dark blue and originally lined. It was a slow job to remove the lining but brute force triumphed! The inside is not intended for wearing next to the skin and quite bumpy so I often wear rubber socks or stockings with them. The boot is reasonably soft with a good smell. A pair of Nokian from Stewart of Penchant. Above comments apply although inside more comfortable. A pair from Black Body, Amsterdam. These were made unlined so can (and are) worn as they are. They are new, and smell rather solventy - I'll just have to wait and see. 2. Waders: An old pair - perhaps 20 years old - Coarsefisher / Gates. I've tried to remove the lining but it's so well fixed that I fear I'll damage the rubber if I try any harder. They are a lovely pair - look good and have a nice suppleness. Finally, a pair, also from Black Body, Amsterdam. Details as above but the smell is much better. |
